Squirrel Trapping

Rescue Trappers gets lots of calls for what is an initial report of squirrels in the attic, primarily because the homeowner can’t stand the thought of Rodents in their attic. Our first question would be do you hear them in the night when it is pitch black out or do you hear them in the daytime. The reasoning for this line of questioning is squirrels are like people, they are daylight dwellers where as Rodents are nocturnal. Squirrels have a few similar characteristics as rodents where as they can be destructive with their chewing habits meaning they will chew entry holes and many exit holes if they sense danger.

Squirrels are probably the most cautious animals we have ever seen, sometimes to their detriment. More on this in our follow up. If you have a Squirrel problem in your yard or inside your attic feel free to call Rescue Trappers to get the best possible service in this area in the most professional manner.

Navigating Squirrel Intrusions: Strategies for Effective Trapping and Prevention

Squirrels, sharing similarities with rodents, exhibit destructive chewing habits, often creating multiple entry and exit holes if they sense danger. To discourage easy access to roofs, it’s crucial to maintain a clear perimeter by trimming branches and vines away from the roof line. Bird feeders, a primary allure for squirrels, frequently draw them too close to residential structures.

At Rescue Trappers, we emphasize the importance of controlling the amount of seed placed in feeders, ensuring it depletes by nightfall. Regarding live trapping, while squirrels can be trapped, it’s often a challenging task, particularly if traps are set without careful consideration and strategic placement.
